<p> My husband, Doug, is also smitten with Rolie as he has decided that forever more he is a &#8220;bassett man.&#8221;  Roland snuggles up between Doug and I nightly and has become the ideal sleeping dog.  Often I awake in the middle of the night to find them snuggling with arms and paws wrapped around each other in an innocent nocturnal embrace.</p>
<p> The other two hounds have fully &#8220;adopted&#8221; Rolie as one of the pack and even allow him to believe that he is the alpha from time to time.  Our foxhound, Penny, is especially fond of his nightly ear cleanings.  Even the two cats have accepted him.  We were somewhat leary of how he would react to the cats, as in the description it said &#8220;no cats,&#8221; but it turns out that he was just cautiously curious about them.  He did this hysterically funny dance with them chuffing and scraping his front paw like a bull for a few days, but the cats simply laughed at him and continued on their way.  The little one, Lola, is quite fond of sleeping beside him in bed now!</p>
<p> As for myself, I can hardly remember life without him.  As I write this, he is gently resting on the couch beside me.  While we all cried when we unpacked Maggie&#8217;s Christmas ornament last week, we promptly went and found a bassett hound ornament with his name on it to add to the tree.  We are all grateful to your organization for providing Roland with a temporary home until he was able to find us.  He is a blessing and a daily gift.  As a former foster parent , I know how much of your heart goes into helping these animals, and I truly appreciate your giving nature and commitment to keeping all animals safe.   </p>
<p>Andrea D. Long (Rolie&#8217;s Mommy)</p>

She is such a joy and we are spoiling her rotten. She is doing great, very healthy and my girls just love her. We are still working on her socialization with our cat, and it seems to be getting better. Our older Jack Russell plays with her and is teaching her proper doggie behavior with her biting to hard during play ( I think she has become her surrogate mommy). </span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;">We plan to get her spayed when she is six months old. She is crate trained and is gradually getting better with soiling in the house, but she still has a few accidents. We have raised many dogs, and it just takes time. She will get there. She already knows how to sit and she loves to chase tennis balls in the yard and bring them back to us. </span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;">How are her other siblings doing? I hope their forever owners love them as much as we love Lexi! Thanks for choosing us as her new parents! </span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;">Take care, Amy Morrell </span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p>

She went to the vet Monday to have her next vaccination. The doc said she looks great! Her lungs and heart sounded good, her stool looked good and she did wonderfully! I am mailing in her registration and payment today for the Basic Manners Class with K9 Solutions, I have been talking to Sylvie there. Thanks for recommending them <img src='http://anewleashonlifedogrescue.org/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p>

We hope that thru the class we learn how to communicate better with Amelia, more ways to help her thru her nipping and chewing stages and now she is climbing the baby gate&#8230; She really does not like for Mommy and Daddy to be in seperate rooms. If we are all in the same room she is content, but the moment I or her Dad leaves the room to go to our bedroom or the laundry room she tries to get over the gate. </span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;">She is a cuddler at night and this makes her Daddy jealous, b/c she cuddles with me <img src='http://anewleashonlifedogrescue.org/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> She has met all of her family now except her Uncle Jon. She got a Snuggie for Christmas so I am attaching a picture of her in that. </span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p>

He&#8217;s still only about 10 lbs, but he definitely looks alot bigger since we got him, and he&#8217;s grown some more wiry hairs sticking out of his face and body, kind of like his brother Columbus had. </span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p>

Our roommate&#8217;s cat even likes to play with him; Triscuit will get under a chair and whenever he pokes his head out on different sides, Boots will run around and bat at him. He hisses at him sometimes too, but we know he secretly likes him. : ) </span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p>

Just heard great news from the vet that her heartworm test came back negative! (She went through treatment in July &amp; August.) My husband &amp; I were thinking that she must be heartworm free because her energy &amp; activity level did a complete turn around. She scampers all around the house and romps up &amp; down the stairs. When we first got her, we had to put the harness on her while she was still laying on the petbed and coax her up. Now she sprints to the door! </span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;">We took a road trip up to Pennsylvania to visit family before Christmas, which is about a 9 hour drive. Abby &amp; our other dog did perfect. Abby did her excited loud hound bark for the first 5 minutes, then settled down and slept the whole way. She wasn&#8217;t very keen about the cold weather, but did enjoy doing a few laps in my parent&#8217;s backyard in the snow! </span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;">Just wanted to say thanks again for saving this sweet girl. She is perfect for our family &amp; we are so lucky to have her! </span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;">Good luck &amp; thanks for all you do! </span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p>

We are taking her to my hometown in the mountains where they have lots of snow, so she should have a good time there. She was just at the vet this morning and she has quickly grown to 26lbs. She is very loving and energetic. </span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;">Clover and one of our cats have really hit it off playing with each other. Our other cat is a little slower to come along so that will take a little more time. </span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;">She is learning fast and now shakes paws as well as sits. She was a little nippy playing when we first got her but we have worked on that and it&#8217;s almost 100% cured. She is very sweet and loving and loves her toys! </span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p>
