Updates from adopters!
I LOVE my new home. As a matter of fact, I think I won the doggie lottery. I live here with my two BIG
brothers, Wrinkles and Pleats (Shar-Peis) and my same-size brother, Shaggy. We all get along really well.
The food here is really good. In the morning, Mom sometimes makes us gour-mutt breakfasts -- one day
we had meatballs and another day we even had bacon!!!!! I love to eat. Every single morning, after we go
outside for our second potty time, we all line up for a treat. Mom tells us to sit, and we get Snausages
or Pupperonis. Yummmm.
We have a huge swimming pool outside and a fenced in back yard. I have attached a picture of me
lounging by the pool. I like to take my bones (and Wrinkles' and Pleats' and Shaggy's too) and sit in the
shade while Mom and Dad are swimming. Well, that's all for now. Thank you so much for finding me such
nice parents. I hope all your dogs are as lucky as I am.
Waggingly yours, Jazz
Belle is doing great. She's 1 now, but still has all her puppy energy and loves squeaky toys. Belle also
loves water but still hasn't quite learned to swim. She only goes out as far as she can walk!
Sincerely, Kathleen
This is a picture of our three kids with Chloe the first night we brought her home. She has been a
wonderful addition to our family and we are so happy she is with us.She's a sweet natured, lovable puppy
who already weighs in at 40 pounds.
Thank you, Susan
Thanks for checking on Kearney -- he is love! He is fully integrated into our family. He is the
happiest, most well-behaved dog I have ever had and I have had quite a few. It just goes to show that
"mixed-breeds" can be the best!!
Thanks for saving him for us! Kay
Nash is doing great. He graduated puppy school last Saturday, 9/14/07. 8 weeks of training... and he is
such a great dig. He's growing big too! He's about 45 lbs. at 5 months now.
Thank you so much, Jason
I was thinking about you all yesterday and was going to write you soon about our year. Trot is so
WONDERFUL! He is cute, sweet, adorable, funny, playful and much more. He fits in our family so well.. He
is a great listener, very well behaved and everyone is jealous!
Take care and hope to hear from you again. Sincerely. Diane
We fortunately found A New Leash after we were fairly desperate to find a dog. We rescued a dog from the
median of a busy highway - we fell in love and had the dog for a month when her owner reclaimed her. We
were heartbroken, but had to give her back. My kids were crushed, so we really wanted to find the perfect
dog.

Thanks for checking in. Kirby, now Cooper, is a wonderful dog. He was a perfect fit for me. He has energy
to play, and also likes to chill out and sleep. He likes going for rides in my old pick up truck and in
my boat. He's such a good boy that I can leave him free in the house now while I'm working. I have
enclosed a photo I took yesterday when we were playing in the yard with his frisbee. He gets tired after
several throws, and when it's hot out he likes to find some shade to lie in!
Thanks, Brandon
Ally and Keely are great. They are getting so big and they are enjoying each others company. I can’t
imagine the two without each other, and we are so fortunate to have both the girls in our life. They know
their routine every morning as we head down the trail to the cove at Falls Lake. They enjoy swimming and
playing in the lake. They definitely have some Lab in them, but keep beside me and watch my every move
like Border Collies. They are extremely attentive but very submissive, kind and sweet. They have learned
their commands quickly and have been wonderful with younger children and adults.
Thank you for all your hard work and your volunteers. Many thanks for rescuing Ally and Keely.
All our best, The Averys
hanks for checking in on Sophie (previously known as Tulah)! She's doing really well and here's an
update. Just after Thanksgiving last year, we adopted Sophie. She spent the next few weeks getting used
to our cats (and vice versa, but they still rule the roost for the most part), and getting used to her
new name, Sophie (aka Snoot Knudsen). My husband and I got married in February and she was very much a
part of the celebration. In April we started seriously working on our yard and Sophie helped by
investigating the mulch piles.
She had a blast racing around at the dog park and when her buds would come over to play, but used to
be depressed when she had no dog friends to chase (humans are simply not fast enough for her). So, Sophie
got a little bro named Ravi in June. Sophie helped to train Ravi (he's a pup) on the ways of squeaky
toys, cats, etc...
Sophie and Ravi get daily walks/jogs, hikes on the weekends and lots of guidance from us. In turn, we
have very happy and healthy dogs with sound minds (more or less depending on which squeaky toy Ravi
decides to capture as his own). Sophie and Ravi took their first long car trip to Florida in August and did
fabulously.
We have been recommending A New Leash on Life Dog Rescue to everyone we talk to who asks about Sophie.
Your foster care system goes above and beyond any other dog rescue we've worked with - your organization
fosters stable, healthy and secure pets, and you make sure they go to the right home.
Thanks again, Hilary and Marcus
Floyd is fantastic! We are all amazed every day at how well he has blended into our family. It is like he
has always been with us. I can't imagine a day without him now. We adopted a Golden Retreiver (Ben) when
he was two and he is now seven. We were so blessed with Ben - he is the best dog and we were not sure if
we could get lucky twice. Floyd is just as sweet, kind and loving as Ben. He is even better in some ways.
The two dogs have gotten along since day one and all the kids love them both.
Thanks for the 2nd best dog ever! The Longs
I wanted to give you an update on our precious Shelby. Shelby is doing great and has fallen into our
family just wonderfully. We love her so much! We can not thank you, your organization, and the Lord
above for the awesome addition to our family.
Sincerely, Crystal
